Science and Computer Lab                          August 30- September 3, 2010
 
Sixth Grade Science-      Mixtures and Solutions
Objective:           To discover the properties of mixtures and solutions.
The class will perform four investigations this week to familiarize themselves with the following:  making and separating mixtures; saturation levels of solutions at varied temperatures; using evaporation to expose salt crystals of a salt solution; developing a plan to separate a dry mixture; implementing the plan for separating a dry mixture.
Homework:        Assigned Monday, August 30, due Wednesday, September 1; What mixtures are found in your lavatory and what are they used for?

Our Sixth Grade class has been invited to attend  St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Services on Sunday, September 19 at 10:30.  Please join us for worship on this Sunday and stay following the services for snacks and fellowship in the Parish Hall.

Help Wanted  The Sixth Grade Sponsored Bake Sale is scheduled for Friday, September 24, 1:30-3:15.  We will be selling the all time favorite - Ice Cream Sundaes.  A list of needed supplies will be going home soon.   If your schedule permits, we really need your assistance with working behind the counter.
