Hello, Friends.
If you are looking for a school for your children that is a home away from home where they will be loved and surrounded in a spiritual, nurturing, inspiring, and enriching environment, look no further. St. Matthew’s Episcopal School is the place for you.
St. Matthew’s Episcopal School was founded in 1976 by a group of dedicated individuals who sought to create an environment where children could experience God’s love and participate in an academically well rounded curriculum providing instruction rich in critical thinking, exploring, and hands on practices as well as extracurricular activities which enable creativity, imagination, and independence.
Thirty – five years later St. Matthew’s Episcopal School takes pride in keeping this tradition alive while working “together” with staff, parents, members of our congregation, and community leaders in building bridges that will allow our students to cross into the world with a strong spiritual and academic foundation and leave their own individual path.
As a teacher with fifteen years of experience, I can tell you that my most rewarding years in education have come from working in this environment. It is truly a special place. Our teachers are a second mom and dad faithfully devoting their time to planning a well delivered lesson, organizing their classroom in order to provide a welcoming and safe environment, and treating each child with respect. Our rector meets with the children daily and shares invaluable stories about God and how he would want us to treat each other.
My sons are now in the fourth and second grade, and they have been students at St. Matthews since they were three years old. My husband and I look at our children each day and recognize how this school has significantly impacted their spiritual growth, academic performance, and community participation. Antonio and Alejandro are who they are because of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School.
I encourage you to stop by for a tour of our school; allow me to personally show you all that is happening in Armadillo Country. I look forward to meeting your family. Please know that St. Matthew’s is here to serve you. God Bless You.
Sincerely,
Mayani Ballesteros
Principal, St. Matthew’s Episcopal School
