Mr. Armijo’s 2nd grade class will be studying the following
Phonics: Associate the sound /n/, /r/, /n/, /m/ with a kn, wr, gn, and mb spelling patterns.
Spelling: Segment sounds to spell words with silent consonants kn, wr, gn and mb. Write each wrong word three times each. Spelling test on Friday.
Spelling Words: knock, sign, knee, wrong, write, climb, wrap, wren, gnat, lamb, comb, knob
Challenge words: knuckle, plumber, wrestle.
Reading: Read the story of the week – Bad Dog Dodger!
Language Arts: Identify pronouns I and me.
Math: Review calendar, lunch and attendance graph, clock, temperature, money, secret numbers, pattern number, number of the day, counting, Assessment. Subtract a two-digit number without using dimes and pennies. Write Number Sentences and Show Equal Groups. Multiplying by 10.
Social Studies: Obtain information about a topic using visual sources such as a map.
Science: Earth’s Weather.
Character Education: Justice.
